Rebecca Walter is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).  She earned her A.A.S in American Sign Language Interpreting at Columbus State, her B.A. in Speech & Hearing Science (focus on Communication Disorders) at the Ohio State University, and her M.A. in Counseling at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO).  She has been trained in EMDR with an EMDRIA approved organization and continues with ongoing consultation. Rebecca honors the unique experiences of each person, also recognizing that systems have played both healthy and unhealthy roles in our sense of self and how we interact in the world.  She is committed to the right of each person to tell their own story and partners in exploring, challenging, and building on the resilience in each person’s story.

She has been a counselor in a domestic violence and sexual assault response agency, and the group therapist in a Women’s Partial Hospitalization and Intense Outpatient (PHP and IOP) Dual Diagnosis psychiatric program, working with PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and addiction.  She also works with people who are in a questioning, transitioning, recovering, or disaffiliated space from a high-demand religion or group.

Rebecca is an EMDR therapist, and draws from a variety of approaches to fit the individual needs of each person.

Rebecca is fluent in American Sign Language.
