John Nash, LPC, LICDC (he, him, his)

John entered the counseling field in 2015 with varied life and educational experiences. He has a BA in Philosophy from Ohio State University and a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. It was only after many years of paradigm shifts that he found a vocation in counseling, pursuing training and education as a therapist.

Between degrees and as a young parent with two children at the time, he lived in Amsterdam, Netherlands for three years as a stay-at-home dad – a life defining and altering experience. His unique educational blend of philosophy and psychology informs his approach and commitment to the value of every human life, sometimes leading to an uncommon and eclectic perspective in treatment theory and practice.

John views his work as a counselor as an extension of his commitment to social justice and advocacy. His counseling style and philosophy is anchored in the unwavering belief of the innate worth of every human. Each one of us has a fundamental right to thrive in our own way; providing care to diverse and underserved populations in is one of his highest values.


John believes that everyone has a unique story, and to tell that story is a sacred experience which can be critical to growth and wellness. To have the bravery to tell your story requires, at the very least, a feeling of psychological safety and the trust that flows from it. His primary goal with clients therefore is to develop an environment of safety in which trust can grow. Through that experience, John believes that you can find the freedom to explore and be your authentic self.

John has experience with and is interested in working with adults from various backgrounds, dealing with wide-ranging challenges not limited to ADHD, anxiety, panic, PTSD, attachment issues, and depression. He also has extensive experience with and hope for those who struggle with addiction. John is comfortable functioning in a wide range of therapeutic practices, depending on your unique needs and comfort.
