Caroline Sippin, LSW | (she/her)
Caroline (she/her) graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology, along with a minor in legal studies from Brandeis University in 2020. During the pandemic, she began her career working with those experiencing severe mental illness, whilst providing therapeutic interventions to achieve symptom stabilization and treatment plan goals. This experience motivated her to pursue a more active role in advocacy for mental health equity and have a greater impact on a person’s mental health journey. Caroline went on to graduate with her MSW from The Ohio State University College of Social Work in 2022.
She prides herself on diversifying her skill set as a social worker and has worked in a myriad of settings over the years. Caroline has experience ranging from community mental health, inpatient acute psychiatric, outpatient, mental health policy, and veteran’s healthcare.
Her areas of expertise include psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, military and non-military PTSD, substance misuse, suicidal ideation, interpersonal and relationship issues, family conflict, stress, and self esteem. Her treatment modalities vary from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, humanistic therapy, and motivational interviewing.
In individual therapy, Caroline’s approach is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed. This allows her to tailor each session to what you are coming to the table with on that particular day. She believes therapy is collaborative and the client and therapist are both actively working on getting a client to their treatment goals. In her work, Caroline emphasizes the importance of a nonjudgmental environment where trust and rapport can be built so she can better help you reach your personalized goals.
Caroline is very passionate about the work that she does and the unique and complex lives that she is welcomed into. She is excited to be a guide for the next step on your mental health journey, whether she is your first therapist or your hundredth.
